The Implementation of European Union RoHS Directive Can Be Expected

European Union WEEE directive has already implemented on August 13, 2005, and the implementation date (July 1, 2006) of European Union RoHS directive closes on day by day. The implementation of these two directives will lead to a series of influence:
---Base on the directive requirements, the new directive is in order to protect the internal environment and human health and security in the range of European Union, and to dispel the difference of legislation among areas.
---From the view of economy, it is a kind of trade barrier. Just like China also will issue the “Measures for Pollution Controlling of Electronic Information Products” (which will implement formally on March 1, 2007) to responding this directive.
---The impact on manufacturers is to close the relationship with the products categories, the characteristic and the position in supply chain.
---Manufacturers actively responding one after another, especially the finished product manufacturer.
The theme of Environmental Protection has been the trend of the world already, for example SONY Corporation has established a corresponding technical standard SS-00259 and pursue GP authentication in supply chain, and summarize a set of comprehensive systematized modes. And SONY product is mainly sold to American and European Countries, etc., the "direct supplier" of Sony Cooperation must be do a very good job on the controlling of implementation of two environmental protection directives
The Packing Material is the main products of QXD and its products sold to all over the world. Although the environmental protection directive of Electric Products has no immediate relationship with us, as Packing Industry have its own environmental protection directive, under the theme of environmental protection, such a worldwide theme, the environmental protection products has played the most important role in the development. As one of the suppliers or indirect suppliers of SONY cooperation, from 2004, in order to satisfy the requirements of customers of electron industry actively, heavy metal concentration in all products of QXD has been controlled in the range (HgCdCrPb heavy metal concentration ≤ 100ppn) of Environmental Protection Directive of Packing Material. For the future products, we will avoid the heavy metal pollution from the manufacture site.
