Importing Regulations of Wasted Whole PET Bottle Issued by China

The new regulations are issued in October 2010, and all invited government officers and enterprises held seminar on Nov. 4^th in Ningbo Zhejiang. Based on China is the largest wasted plastic importer country in the world, the new regulations are highly focused by countries around the world.

In the past, the PET bother must be totally smashed before getting into China, especially polyester fiber manufacturing industry. The government officers expressed that they will lift the control over PET bottle importing regulations last year.

The new regulations make some restrictions on importer of PET bottle: it requires that the importer must have built regeneration factories, and have the valid license of importing regeneration plastics and locates in the special regeneration field. Besides the quantity of wasted plastic must come to at least 10 thousand tons every year in the past three years.

As to those importer enterprises, which locate outside the special regeneration field, then the quantity of wasted plastic must come to at least 30 thousand tons every year in the past three years.

The State Environmental Protection Administration will release the import license to those enterprises which meet the regulations together, the new regulations has got global close attention. Take the United States for example; The United States exported over half of recycled PET bottle to China in the past four years.

Because the new regulations may have impact on the global regeneration flow and it may make Chinese PET importing scale which has been large enough further expand, the new regulations get global close attention.
