The joint of PP packing strap is easy to break, why?

In the feedback about first use of our PP strap, some clients expressed that the PP strap produced by us Guangdong QXD Packaging Material Co.,Ltd is defective goods. For this, we feel both ridiculous and helpless. The ridiculous part is that the PP strap we offer is in high purity, and the above situation won’t happen; and the helpless part is that the clients misunderstand our painstaking and mention that our products are expensive. Some time ago, our after-sale service department got a complaining call from one of our clients. He complained that our PP strap is not strong, and the joint often broke when used in full-automatic packing machine. This client was very angry, emphasizing that we were lying to the consumers. This client bought their full-automatic packing machine from another supplier which is the old product two years ago. Due to the long time and normal use, all kinds of parts of this packing machine have been serious aging, especially the bearings under the middle blade which has been in serious deformation. It caused the pp strap break often. Then what kind of reason will cause the pp strap break? Let’s have a look.

The density of PP strap is the same as the gram weight of PP strap. If the gram weight of PP strap is over 4.4 g/m, then there is no influence, as the joint of PP strap is very important. The higher purity of PP (polypropylene), the stronger the break-resistance is.

The reasons which cause the joint of PP strap may be as following:

1.      the temperature of the packing machine is not suitable ( it should be 450℃ in the summer and 600℃ in the winter of the north)

2.      the dirt on the heater is too much (burnishing the dirt via sand paper will be fine)

3.      the heater is not in the right position ( correcting via pliers will be fine)

4.      the bearing understand the middle blade has been deformed (changing the middle blade will be fine)

5.      the operator moves the goods off before the plate of the packing get back to its original position

The break-resistance of joint of PP strap is normally 75% percent of the original one, the break-resistance of the virgin PP strap whose gram weight is over 4.4 g/m is less than 120kg per piece, so the break-resistance of joint of the PP strap is 94kg per piece. We recommend the clients to use the high purity PP strap in the thickness of 0.5mm-0.8mm. The PP strap with thickness in this scope owns light gram weight, strong break-resistance, and beautiful appearance, so it has high cost-performance.
